Today’s guest has been featured on news outlets like CNN, Forbes, MSNBC, and is a New York Times best-selling author. She’s none other than the illustrious Carrie Wilkerson. In the last two decades Carrie has built several highly successful businesses, worked with people like Zig Ziglar and grown to become a household name.
But Carrie wasn’t born with a big dream, her entrepreneurial desire awakened later in life when she adopted two older high-needs children. She left her job as a high school teacher and set out to find a way to make a good and ethical living working from home so she could care for her kids.
That sounds like a fairly normal entrepreneurial journey until you hear when she started it: 1998. In 1998 the Internet was not a business hub! Yet Carrie bravely ventured forth and built a business that generated $70k a month in under 2 years.
In this episode Carrie shares how The Barefoot Executive started as a side project, why it’s so important to always be learning no matter how successful you are, who she’s working with for her latest venture and the five things she’d tell her 21-year old self today.
“Get over yourself, get over your fear!”
