In our busy world, many people wish they had more time. More time to do things in your business, more time to spend with your family, more time to enjoy your hobbies. But perhaps that’s not the right attitude to have. After all, everyone has the same amount of time. It’s just a matter of how we choose to spend that time.
In this episode of the New Business Podcast, I speak with Leo Babauta, the author of Zen Habits – one of the most popular blogs in the world. We talk about zen and minimalism, and how these concepts can be applied not only to life, but also to business. I think this is one of the most important interviews I’ve done to date, as it’s a subject that is near and dear to my heart, and one that I wish a lot of other entrepreneurs that are struggling would take a little more seriously.
In this episode, you’ll learn about:
- Why it’s important to learn how to say NO.
- Why doing less can actually help your business.
- How to use minimalism as an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Why time is your most valuable commodity.
- How to apply the zen approach to free yourself from mental clutter.
- Much, much more!
Items mentioned in this episode:
- Zen Habits – Leo blog.
- Gary Veynerchuk’s “Everybody Has Time” video.
- NBP021 with Gary Vaynerchuk
- A year of living without
- San Francisco Zen Centre
I value every review I receive, and often read them out on the show. If you take the time to leave one, THANK YOU - You rock!
This episode is somewhat different from my other interviews. Leo’s zen approach is very interesting in that he is not trying to do more with his time, like many entrepreneurs, but do less. He is making the things he does really count, and that’s something we all can learn from.
